๐ OFF THE GRID
Community Guidelines
Last updated: April 28, 2026
Off The Grid Chat is built on
anonymity, freedom, and respect. Messages disappear. Identities are protected. But that freedom comes with responsibility. These guidelines exist to keep this space open for everyone.
By using Off The Grid Chat you agree to follow these guidelines and our
Terms of Service. Violations may result in removal from the platform.
-
โ
Treat other users with basic respect. Disagreements are fine โ personal attacks are not.
-
โ
Keep conversations in the spirit of the room. Stay on topic where possible.
-
โ
Remember that behind every username is a real person.
-
โ
No content involving minors. Sharing, soliciting, or distributing any sexual content involving minors (CSAM) will result in an immediate permanent ban. Any such content will be removed and, where required by federal law, reported to the NCMEC CyberTipline along with all available account information.
-
โ
No hate speech. Content that attacks or dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin is not permitted.
-
โ
No harassment or threats. Do not threaten, stalk, intimidate, or persistently harass other users.
-
โ
No illegal content. Do not share content that facilitates illegal activity, including the distribution of controlled substances, weapons, or stolen data.
-
โ
No spam, chain messages, or unsolicited promotions. This includes advertising products, services, or other platforms.
-
โ
No impersonation. Do not pretend to be another user, a public figure, or Off The Grid Chat staff.
-
โ
No bots or automated accounts. All accounts must represent a real human user.
-
โ
No sharing of other users' private information. What happens off the grid, stays off the grid.
-
โ
Images shared in public rooms must be appropriate for all audiences. Explicit or adult content is not permitted in public rooms.
-
โ
Video sharing is available in Direct Messages only. Both parties must consent to receiving media.
-
โ
Do not share media that you do not have the right to distribute, including copyrighted material or images of others taken without consent.
-
โ
No explicit or graphic imagery of any kind in public rooms. Violations result in immediate removal.
-
โ
Do not attempt to identify, dox, or expose the real identity of other users.
-
โ
Do not solicit personal information (real name, location, phone number, social media) from other users.
-
โ
Anonymity is a feature, not a license. Being anonymous does not exempt you from these guidelines.
-
โ
Off The Grid Chat is strictly for users 18 and older. If you are under 18, do not use this platform.
-
โ
If you believe a user is underage, tap their username and select "Report underage user" immediately.
-
โ
Room Owners are responsible for their rooms. By creating a room you accept responsibility for ensuring all activity within it complies with these guidelines and our Terms of Service.
-
โ
Actively moderate your room. You must respond to violations in a timely manner. Ignoring ongoing violations in your room may result in the room being removed or your account being suspended.
-
โ
Room MODs (๐จ) must act in good faith. MOD powers exist to protect the community โ not to silence dissent, retaliate against users, or facilitate prohibited conduct. Abuse of MOD powers will result in removal of MOD status.
-
โ
Do not create rooms to facilitate violations. Rooms designed for harassment, spam, illegal activity, or to circumvent platform bans will be removed immediately.
-
โ
OTGC-Mods and the owner have access to all rooms โ including private ones. "Private" means private from other ordinary users, not from platform moderators. Attempting to use private rooms to circumvent moderation is a violation of these guidelines.
-
โ
Room Owners and MODs are not employees or representatives of Off The Grid Chat and have no authority to make commitments on our behalf.
-
โ
OTGC-Mods are platform-wide moderators appointed by the owner. They display an "OTGC-Mod" badge next to their username and can mute, kick, or ban users across all public rooms.
-
โ
๐จ Room MODs are moderators assigned to specific user-created rooms by the room creator. Their authority is limited to their assigned room.
-
โ
All moderation actions are logged. If you are muted or banned, you will see a Purgatory notification with the reason. You may submit an appeal after 5 minutes.
-
โ
Impersonating a moderator or attempting to circumvent moderation actions is a violation of these guidelines and may result in a permanent ban.
โ ๏ธ Consequences for Violations
- Minor violations โ warning or temporary suspension
- Repeat violations โ permanent account ban
- Hate speech, harassment, illegal content โ immediate permanent ban
